Beyond analogy, Crisp’s movement is astonishing in its sheer otherness, … the standard syntax of dance is erased. It’s magical… // RealTime
How do we prepare the body? For what? Isn’t dancing already occurring? Rosalind Crisp brings 40 years of dancing research to these questions. She offers processes for attending to the materiality of our bodies – the flesh, weight, breath, edges and contents, and proposes a raft of compositional tools to respond to this materiality. Her method supports dance artists to sustain an independent, embodied inquiry.
