Freddy Hondekindo would like to investigate how interdependency as an ethical framework could generate innovative partnership models, aesthetics, and methodology.
The workshop will focus on practices that predominantly ask to listen, actively receive, and host foreign bodies and voices within and onto ourselves.
Blending contact improvisation/partnering and wrestling he is interested in generating situations that encourage practitioners to indiscriminate their weight and in some cases engage genuine strength with an acute awareness of the other. Freddy will invite you to look at our performance practice as sites of resistance to normative discourse and representation, through which we can critically reflect on notions surrounding consent, nonviolence and collective empowerment.
